I have been using the Body Drench Quick Tan Instant Self-Tanner Spray for about 3 months now and I am happy to report, it’s a definite keeper. Having used a bunch of other bronzers in the past and some are actually pretty good, but Body Drench is certainly near the top of the line. I use the medium dark spray even though I already have an olive-toned complexion, but I can get really pale sometimes, and this puts me right back on track with the added perk of a fantastic bronzed look!

What’s great about this product and self-tanners on a whole is the rapidity of which you can acquire a terrific tan with no sun or UV exposure whatsoever. As such this product does not contain SPF protection. It contains dihydroxyacetone (DHA) however, that interacts with the amino acids in your skin cells to produce a darkened color.
Following the instructions will get the job done but developing the skill of applying a spray tan is very important. This will actually save you time and money – meaning you won’t make any mistakes or use too much too quickly by over applying. Body Drench Quick Tan Instant Self-Tanner Spray comes in a variety of sizes, however, I always go with the 6 Fl Oz. This will give you three uses considering you will be bronzing your entire body.
I have a particular routine for applying my self-tanner. There is a bit of prepping that is involved in achieving not only a smooth and even tan but also one that gives me longevity.
Taking a bath is one of the first things I do and while doing so, it is imperative that I exfoliate my skin. There are exfoliating gloves that you can use in combination with body scrubs to effectively smoothen and cleanse your skin of stubborn or deep oils and dirt as well as dead skin.
Do not moisturize or apply body oils after. This creates a barrier between your skin and the bronzing spray, preventing it from fully penetrating your skin.
Upon applying the spray you should try to hold the bottle about 10-12 inches away from your body and move your hand in a slow steady motion over the areas in which you intend on tanning.
This self-tanner is more like a mist. The emitting pressure isn’t as forceful as what you would expect from the typical spray can. Unfortunately, because of this, you need to hold your hand longer over a designated area of your body to get proper coverage. This ultimately uses more of the solution. However, it turns out that this lack of pressure is better for acquiring an even tan.
I can see the results immediately every time I use this self- tanner. It actually sprays out with a light reddish brown tint which gives me a natural sun-kissed color.
It dries pretty quickly, I would say after misting the last area of your body to wait 10 minutes before sliding on clothes. I usually pull on a loose fitting silk robe to pass the drying time i.e. another hour or two.
You will find that this bronzer continues to work and develop your tan 3-5 hours after application. For an even deeper looking tan, you can follow up this routine a second and third time during a one-week period.
Body Drench Quick Tan Instant Self-Tanner Spray is highly water resistant. If you allow the solution to dry properly on your skin then you can hit the gym – sweat it out and take a bath daily without worrying about rubbing any of it off.
However, you will see your tan fading after the fifth day or so if you don’t reapply more of this tanning solution. Stay away from excessively lotioning or shaving the areas that you use this bronzer or any bronzer for that matter.
One of the good things about being an avid self-proclaimed tanner that affect skin prep techniques each time is that I maintain smooth and soft skin through exfoliating practices.
I can’t say Body Drench Quick Tan Instant Self-Tanner Spray produces any skin nourishing qualities. However, it doesn’t make my skin feel sticky which other bronzers tend to do sometimes. It simply tans my complexion giving my skin a natural-looking, sun-kissed and bronzed hue.
I don’t usually experience any streaking or spotting. You can see how the mist covers your body during application and will instantly notice if any type of blemishing occurs.
A simple way to fix inconsistencies or blemishes is to rub in the tanning solution (while it is wet) with your fingers to even it out. Always rinse your hands immediately after.
It has your typical sun tanning scent there is nothing intense about the fragrance, however, there is a hint of a coconut aroma if I’m not mistaken.
I believe it is reasonably priced at $12.98 on Amazon; other self-tanners can be quite expensive so always check the online stores first.
I actually like the bottle this Body Drench Quick Tan Instant Self-Tanner Spray comes in. A subdued dark brown can with the words ‘Quick Tan’ printed vertically in front and center. There is a bit of light brown decorative styling towards the base of the bottle with the color description and details of the bronzer on caramel colored labels.
This is definitely a good product. The ease of use and results are terrific.
Even though it is reasonably priced, I would have preferred more produce for my money. It only gives me a little over three uses. The good thing is I only spray tan once a week, so ultimately it will last me a month. For those of you who tan more often, this might be a little taxing.
