We all love the look and feel of a tan but we don’t want to spend hour after hour being exposed to UV rays that will make us age faster. I’ve heard so much hype about Tan Physics that I had to try it to see if the claims were actually true. Tan Physics claims to contain natural tanners cutting edge anti-aging skin care ingredients in one formula, eliminating the need to use additional moisturizers. Tan Physics also claims to deliver a realistic, beautiful, streak free tan. Although I have been able to find some fairly decent sunless tanners that do what they claim, they are hard to find.

I’m going to start off by saying that I love that Tan Physics isn’t tested on animals and that it’s good for all skin types. It’s also really great that if you are unhappy at anytime within 100 days for any reason, they will refund the full amount of your order.

I have fairly sensitive skin and it’s also combination dry and oily. This means I have a difficult time finding self-tanners that I can use on my face where I don’t break out. To start I always exfoliate my skin before use so I wouldn’t end up with possible patchy areas. Tan Physics does have its own Pre-Tan Exfoliant but I just used a natural loofah sponge. Always pay close attention to elbows and knees or anywhere you experience extra dryness. Make sure your skin is absolutely dry before applying the tanner. The best way to apply the product is in sections. You can start on your calves and work your way up and do our thighs and so on.

I like this product. The color did look really natural and not fake! I even used it on my face and I didn’t break out. To start off with I used just a little product to start just to see how it would turn out. I let it dry for close to half an hour after application. The longer the product is left in the more hydrated your skin will be. My skin was soft and supple. I didn’t see any streaks but suggest wearing dark colored clothing up to six hours after application. The color started to develop after three hours and the next day it was completely developed. I added more product the next day because I wanted a darker tan. You can add more product each day to develop a darker tan. The color will last about 4-5 days after using it the first time.

I found the lotion not too runny or thick. It spread well and absorbed well. It dried in about 5 minutes and I didn’t find it greasy. The tanner has a citrusy scent at first but as the color started to develop I noticed a bit of a strange smell which lasted for a long time afterward.

I like this product but I don’t think that I would give up my usual ones for this one. Although it provides a nice tan and smooth skin, it doesn’t darken or moisturize any more than what I currently use at a fraction of the cost of this product. If you haven’t yet found a self-tanner you like, I would still suggest you give this one a try.

  1. Made my face like leather. I’ve been using it for two months now and sometimes I would use it twice a day. It gives a great tan but being harsh on skin defeats the purpose.
The purpose of letting you know is I’m wondering if anyone else has said the same?

    • If it made your face like leather then why the heck did you use it for two months..How could it do that when it is full of oils and natural ingredients..Just wondering..

  2. I do love the product for me it works great. The only thing I think what you charge for shipping is a lot especially when the same customer like myself orders frequently from you.

  3. Some of the things that people are saying about this product is absolutely not true..Don’t know your reason for putting a really false statement on here..but Tan Physics does not smell..it smells good and doesn’t leave any at all after odor..It has natural ingredients so maybe your own chemicals in your body is not working well with it..Idk..but I have not found what you say to be at all true..At first I didn’t like it..because I think I was applying it wrong. It definitely had great moisture and oils to it..but i seemed it was going on too dark for me..so I started not using a mitt and it works really good. None of the tanners are perfect but for me this one gets 4 stars..and none of them would ever get more than that. Self tanners for fair skinned people takes some working with because your skin does not have that tone so..just keep working with it and don’t overaplly..Do just as the directions tell you and I think you will really like it..

  4. I just started reading about this self tanner. What I was wondering is dose it bleed onto your clothing? What happens if you are sweating? Will it run?
